Naaman healed of leprosy V

2 Kings 5:1-27

Fortunately, Naaman was humble enough to swallow his anger, accept the advice of his servants and obey the word of God. He did exactly as the man of God had said, and he was healed (2 Kings 5:13-14). Where Naaman had once thought that the God of Israel was only one among many territorial gods, now he could say, there is no God in all the world except in Israel (2 Kings 5:15). He now believed the God of Israel to be the true God. He returned to Elisha’s house, and this time he and the prophet face to face. Full of gratitude, he offered rich gifts.

This messenger has already been encountered in Exodus 3:2, when he appeared to Moses in the burning bush. The angel now moves from his position in front of the people to take up a position behind them, where the cloud that accompanies him will act as a screen between them and the Egyptians and keep this army in check all night. *26/04/2026* *ANOINTING HEALING AND COMMUNION SERVICE* TOPIC: *WHAT DOES GOD DO?* CONTINUING PROVISION AND PRESENCE  - God will sometimes overrule the natural order by the miraculous  True Miracles  Elijah 1 Kings 17-18; 2 Kings 1 ELIJAH’S PROPHECY TO AHAB 1 Kings 17:1-6 Like most of the other prophets, Elijah simply appears, without any introduction. He must, however, have already been well known in Israel at the time he appeared to announce the judgment of God for the sins of Ahab and Israel (1 Kings 17:1). The judgment was that there would be no rain or dew for some years as a punishment for the sins mentioned in the previous verses. Elijah must not be thought of as similar to African rainmakers. Stopping or making rain was not his main work.
