THEME:

*THE GOSPEL WITHOUT HEALING AND MIRACLES*


“Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?”

Acts 26:8


Miracles and healings raise a question; some people say the days of miracles are gone. Others say, even though, God heals, but some conditions are too bad for God to heal.

Check through the Gospels, we will see impossibilities turn to possibilities by our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Hebrews 13:8

The Word of God is real, true and alive. Miracles and healings are living testimonies to the authenticity of the Bible.


*The ministry of Jesus Christ* had 3 cardinal areas, that of Preaching, teaching and healing. The three areas are exclusive to the life of Jesus; one cannot be substituted for the other. The three complement one another.

What is preached and taught should be demonstrated and seen by all to be true and real.

During the life of Jesus, diverse miracles and healings were done as recorded in the Bible (include the miracles and healings in the Gospel according to Matthew, Mark, Luke, John). They include:

- The man with leprosy

Matthew 8:1-4

- The Centurion servant healed 

Matthew 8:5-13

- Jesus heals many 

Matthew 8:14-17

- The healing of two demon-possessed men 

Matthew 8:28-34

- Jesus heals a paralytic 

Matthew 9:1-8

- A dead girl and sick woman 

Matthew 9:18-25

- Jesus heals the blind in Gennesaret

Matthew 14:34-36

- The Canaanite woman’s daughter healed 

Matthew 15:21-28

- Jesus cures many people 

Matthew 15:29-31

- Jesus cures a boy with a demon 

Matthew 17:14-21

- Jesus heals two blind men 

Matthew 20:29-34


*Healing ministry of Elisha*

- The Shunammite’s son restored to life 

2 Kings 4:32-37

- Naaman healed of leprosy

2 Kings 5:9-14

- Death of Elisha

2 Kings 13:20-21


*Healing ministry of the Apostles*

- Peter heals the crippled beggar 

Acts 3:1-10

- The Apostles heal many

- The healing of Aeneas

- Eutychus raised from the dead at Troas

Red Sea VII

*19/04/2026* *THIRD SUNDAY SERVICE* TOPIC: *WHAT DOES GOD DO?* CONTINUING PROVISION AND PRESENCE  - God will sometimes overrule the natural order by the miraculous  True Miracles  Red Sea VII Exodus 14:1-31 God uses the east wind to drive back the water so that the Israelites can cross the sea on dry ground. Exodus 14:21-22 Ominously for the Egyptians, this is the same wind that had brought the avery of locusts at the time of the eighth plague (Exodus 10:13). At the end of the plague, God had hurled the locusts into the Red Sea so that ‘not a locust was left’ according to Exodus 10:19. *08/04/2026* *MID WEEK SERVICE* TOPIC: *WHAT DOES GOD DO?* CONTINUING PROVISION AND PRESENCE  - God will sometimes overrule the natural order by the miraculous  True Miracles  Red Sea IV Exodus 14:1-31 Rather than becoming indignant at the people’s reaction and lack of faith, Moses tries to calm the people’s fears saying, *Do not be afraid* (Exodus 14:13a). God himself will later say these same words to the people (Exodus 20:20). They can also be translated as‘stand up straight’ or ‘stay where you are!
