God’s miracles glorify Him and cause some to believe 

John 2:23

The statements made in John 2:23-25 provide important background to the meeting between Jesus and Nicodemus.

Jesus is presented as a miracle worker who is the object of faith.

*many believed in His name:* This was saving faith.

John’s purpose in recording Jesus’ miracles was for people to believe and have eternal life.

*31/12/2025* *MID WEEK SERVICE* TOPIC: *WHAT DOES GOD DO?* CONTINUING PROVISION AND PRESENCE  - God provides for the needs of all XII Psalms 23:1-6; 147:1-9 1 Peter 5:6-7 Matthew 5:46; 6:25-34 Acts 14:17 Worry does not advance one’s cause at all; it cannot according to Matthew 6:27-28. It is absolutely useless. It can take up so much of one’s energy that one is paralyzed and cannot act. We need to recognize that while the necessities of life, like clothes, are important, they are not to become an all-consuming passion. Solomon’s wardrobe fades into insignificance beside the simple beauty of a flower according to Matthew 6:29. A flower has a very short lifespan, but God fills it with beauty in spite of this. However, it is also possible that those words outline the first step in creation, with the words *in the beginning* being equivalent to "first".
