Jude concludes his letter with exuberant praise for the Lord, who alone could keep us from being deceived.

*Stumbling* probably refers to the possibility of being tripped up by the false teachers’ errors. Note that Jude does not use the word falling, but stumbling. Only a person who is already walking or running (frequent biblical images of the Christian life) can stumble.

This interpretation fits well with the command that follows - to reign over all that God has made. *according to Our likeness:* This draws attention to the preceding figure of speech. Since God is Spirit according to John 4:24, there can be no "image" or "likeness" of Him in the normal sense of these words. It is absolutely useless. It can take up so much of one’s energy that one is paralyzed and cannot act. We need to recognize that while the necessities of life, like clothes, are important, they are not to become an all-consuming passion. Solomon’s wardrobe fades into insignificance beside the simple beauty of a flower according to Matthew 6:29. A flower has a very short lifespan, but God fills it with beauty in spite of this. How much more will he provide food and clothes for the creatures who bear his image? (Matthew 6:30-32).
