John 14:6

Jesus then tells them the way to reach the Father: *I am the way and the truth and the life* (John 14:6a). They will reach the Father by believing in Jesus. This is Jesus' sixth major *I am* saying (the earlier ones are in John 6:35 and John 6:51;8:12 and 9:5;10:7 and 9;10:11 and 14; and 11:25).

Jesus' words here make it very clear that all roads do not lead to Rome, no matter how often we are assured that this is the case. Not all roads lead to possession of eternal life.

*Jesus is the God-appointed way.*

 *01/06/2025* *THANKSGIVING SERVICE* TOPIC: *WHAT DOES GOD DO?* INTRODUCTION  - The creation of the earth and the near heavens  Genesis 1:1-31 The rest of the chapter is then seen as an expression on the summary of Genesis 1:1. However, it is also possible that those words outline the first step in creation, with the words *in the beginning* being equivalent to "first". The idea then would be that the first thing God did was to create the raw shell ( heaven and earth) and then for six days he filled that shell with content.
