1 Corinthians 15:45

The first man Adam became a living being according to 1 Corinthians 15:45 and Genesis 2:7 but the last Adam (Christ) became a Life-giving spirit.

The first Adam (natural) came before the second Adam (spiritual).

The contrast is not between a material body and an immaterial body, but between a body subject to death and a body that is immortal.

The Greek term translated *spiritual* here refers to a body directed by the Spirit, as opposed to one dominated by the flesh 

1 Corinthians 2:15; 10:4

*First man and second Man* contrasts the sinful nature that every person inherits with the righteous nature that comes through Christ.

 *01/06/2025* *THANKSGIVING SERVICE* TOPIC: *WHAT DOES GOD DO?* INTRODUCTION  - The creation of the earth and the near heavens  Genesis 1:1-31 The rest of the chapter is then seen as an expression on the summary of Genesis 1:1. However, it is also possible that those words outline the first step in creation, with the words *in the beginning* being equivalent to "first". The idea then would be that the first thing God did was to create the raw shell ( heaven and earth) and then for six days he filled that shell with content. This interpretation fits well with the command that follows - to reign over all that God has made. *according to Our likeness:* This draws attention to the preceding figure of speech. Since God is Spirit according to John 4:24, there can be no "image" or "likeness" of Him in the normal sense of these words. Indeed, image-making was later strongly prohibited because of the clear ties that has with idolatry according to Exodus 20:4-6. We may not make images of God for He has already done so!
