Acts 9:40

Peter sent everyone out of the room according to Matthew 9:25, and then knelt down and prayed.

We are not told the content of the prayer, but he must have asked Jesus to restore life to the dead woman. He seems to have been facing away from the body, for after praying he turned and spoke directly to her - calling her by name and commanding her to get up.

This was an act of faith on Peter's part, and he must have been delighted to see her open her eyes and sit up.
