Jesus encouraged His disciples to be persistent in prayer and faith, looking for the day when the Son of Man exonerates the faithful in the judgment, so that they are able to stand before Him

1 John 2:28

Christ can come in judgment at any time. Therefore, everyone should be ready to give a reason for the way he or she lived. Christians should curb all sinful passions in the light of the coming of the Lord. Peter urges all to be sober- minded and disciplined so that they can offer their prayers to God.
