Matthew 26:60


It is clear that although they constituted a court of law, the Sanhedrin did not follow proper legal procedures in Jesus' case.

*First*, they conducted a capital trial at night.

*Second*, they passed a sentence on the same day as the trial.

*Third*, they should have conducted the meeting of the Sanhedrin in the Chamber of Hewn Stone on the Temple Mount and not in the house of the chief priest.

*Fourth*, they broke the law regarding false witnesses.

Deuteronomy 19:16-21
