Romans 5:15

"But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man's offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many".


In acting as the representative of all humanity, Adam was in a sense a model (or prototype) of Christ. But the actions of the two men were very different.

Through one man, Adam, death came. Yet through one Man, Jesus Christ, grace and the gift of God, eternal life, was given. The works of the two men, Adam and Jesus, are not merely antithetical.

*Christ's work is greater, for it brings God's grace to those stuck in the sinfulness which originated in Adam*
