Exodus 3:15-18


God does not merely declare His absolute existence, He declares *His relationship to His people*. *He is the God who made an eternal covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob*.

The fact that Israelites had to go somewhere else to sacrifice to the LORD may have been an implied slur on the land of Egypt.

*The wickedness of the Egyptians polluted the land and made it unsuitable for worshipping their God*.

*The Israelites needed neutral soil to worship God in purity*
