Exodus 32:11-13


*Moses used three principal arguments in this great prayer to assuage the anger of the Lord*


1. The deliverance of Israel from Egypt was the work of the Lord.

*How could God abandon them now?*


2. The Egyptians would hear of this judgment and would believe that they had triumphed after all.

*How could God destroy them now?*


3. The covenant had been established long before by divine oath.

*How could God revoke this promise now?*


*We see clearly Moses' own humility, his compassion for the Israelites, and his zeal for God's glory and honor*
