Text:

Exodus 2:12

Despite his privilege and position, Moses realized that there was no legal procedure for him to stop the abuses of the Egyptian taskmasters. Moved by a sense of injustice, he rashly killed the taskmaster.

Acts 7:24

In the opinion of some Jewish rabbis, *forty* was the age at which a man had grown to maturity.

Moses' life is divided into three parts:

1. The first forty years in the palace of Pharaoh,

2. The second forty years in the desert and

3. The third forty years carrying out God's will to deliver His people.

Moses began his *period of wilderness training* after he had tried to free the Israelites in *a way that God had not chosen*
