Exodus 2:10


God prepare people long in advance for the task to which he will call them.

This child, whom God is so carefully protecting and educating, will have an exceptional destiny. But the long time that is allocated to the preparation of this *liberator* reminds us that *God works at his own pace*. The people are enduring oppression, salvation is on the way, but the moment of deliverance has not yet come. It is still decades in the future.

God does not rely on improvisation. He has a detailed script and takes time to get ready for what is coming. He prepares the one who will appear on the stage of history through both the ordinary and the extraordinary events of his life.

Moses would become 'powerful in speech and action' (Acts 7:22), because of the training and preparation he had received.
