MAJOR OLD TESTAMENT PROPHECIES OF THE MESSIAH


Isaiah 2:1-2

Some have interpreted the phrase *in the latter days* as pointing to the new epoch initiated by the saving work of Christ and the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.

Acts 2:17.

According to this interpretation, this prophecy will be completely fulfilled in the Second Coming of the Messiah.

1 Corinthians 15:28.

Others interpret this passage as referring to conditions in *Christ's future Kingdom*.

The fuller development of this theme can be found in Micah 4:1-4.

Just as *the LORD'S house* (the temple) was a type of the heavenly sanctuary according to Hebrews 9:24, so presumably *the mountain* (Mount Zion) was a copy of a heavenly reality.

Hebrews 9:23,24; 12:22-24.

*In the coming Kingdom, the city of Jerusalem and its glorious temple will again become prominent*
