Psalms 2:2-5

*The Messiah's Triumph and Kingdom*

The *LORD* refers to the Father.

*His Anointed*(Psalms 18:50;132:10) refers to the Son. The word conveys a sense of royalty, for Kings were anointed.

1 Samuel 10:1; 16:13.

*The Kings of the earth would attempt to withstand the very King of the universe.*

God laughs scornfully at an attack on His Son.

Psalms 37:13.

The idea of "fighting off" the will of God is truly preposterous.

*God is King of the universe*

Psalms 93.

What are the puny kings of the earth compared to Him?
