Acts 17:3

Paul reasoned with Thessalonians from the Scriptures.

There was a great deal of evidence in Scripture that Paul could use in his argument.

For example, Psalms 22, written over one thousand years earlier by David, describes the crucifixion of the *Messiah*. Paul could quote Isaiah 53 and Zechariah 12 to demonstrate that the suffering, death and ressurection of the coming *Messiah* was predicted by the prophets.

The Old Testament abounds with evidence of the *Messiah's* character and life that clearly matches that of *Jesus*

(Luke 24:25-27).
