Daniel 6:22

At the den the angel calls out to Daniel, addressing him as a servant of the living God (Daniel 6:20).

He recognizes that Daniel continually serves his God, and that God is 'living' as opposed to 'dead' idols. It is also clear that he had at least some expectation that Daniel would be delivered (Daniel 6:20). He was overjoyed when Daniel responded (Daniel 6:23). Daniel had no doubt that it was the Lord who had protected him. His heroic faith is commended in the New Testament (Hebrews 11:33).


Daniel 3:28

Nebuchadnezzar was awestruck as he called out to Shadrach, Meshach and AbedNego, addressing them as servants of the Most High God (Daniel 3:26). He had encountered this God as a 'revealer of mysteries' before (Daniel 2:47), but now he encountered him as a deliverer (Daniel 3:28-29). Unfortunately Nebuchadnezzar did not embrace this God for himself. He merely declared that this God was unique in being able to save his servants and forbade any insults to him on pain of death.

Hebrews 11:33


Psalms 34:7,8

God is praised for the deliverance He provides in response to the prayers of His people (Psalms 40:1).

With the sense of God surrounding or hovering over the believer in this manner, there is no need to fear - even in the most desperate times.


2 Kings 6:17

In answer to his prayer, Elisha's reassuring words to his servant (2 Kings 6:16) were validated by letting him see the spiritual realities that lay beyond normal human sight. Such a fiery scene had accompanied Elijah's translation into heaven (2 Kings 2:11).


Psalms 91:11

Spiritual protection, freedom from fear, the security of God's presence - these are assured to those who truly trust God. We need not fear the demonic, the spiritual powers of evil, for there are spiritual powers of good, the angels, to protect us and the power of God is always far greater than any power that can be used against us.
