2 Samuel 24:16
The judgment was carried out by *the angel of the LORD*(Judges 6:11-22). In a demonstration of divine grace, God withheld the plaque from destroying the people of Jerusalem. A *threshing floor* is a hard, flat surface where wheat is crushed to separate the Kernels from the straw.
*Araunah*, called Ornan in 2 Chronicles 3:1, was a *Jebusite*, one of the original inhabitants of Jerusalem.

2 Kings 19:35
The prophecy was fulfilled and the Assyrians never set foot inside Jerusalem or even shot an arrow against it. Without any delay, that night an angel of destruction, like the one in Egypt during the first Passover, went through the camp of the Assyrians. Thousands of their soldiers died.

Exodus 12:23
The Hebrew word Pesach, which we translate as Passover, literally means 'pass over' in the sense of 'jump over'. The blood of the lamb causes the angel of judgment to spare those who claim its protection.

Psalms 35:5-6,7
David's first petition calls for *shame* on his enemies (Psalms 35:26). This is not just a call to embarrass them; it is a call for final judgment.
In this instance, *the angel of the LORD* is a scourge (contrast Psalms 34:7).
*without cause*: Here is the heart of David's position; He has not done anything to cause this evil attack upon himself.

Acts 12:23
Herod delivered an impressive speech dressed in his full regalia, and they responded by shouting that his voice was that of a god, not of a man.
Herod did not correct them and give God the glory - and his punishment for this blasphemy was death.
Luke says that an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms, suggesting that he contracted a severe sickness clearly sent by God, that eventually killed him.
This story is a warning to anyone who is tempted to take God's glory.

Revelation 16:1
The *loud voice from the temple* is likely the voice of God, since no other heavenly being could enter the heavenly temple "till the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed" (Revelation 15:8; 15:1; 14:10.

I am exempted from any evil judgment of God over the earth and mankind.
I am covered by the blood of Jesus.
I live by the mercy and divine grace of God.
