*your prayer is heard*: The angel was probably referring to the prayer for the redemption of Israel that Zacharias had recited in the holy place, or to his earlier prayers for a child.
*you shall call his name John*: When God names a child, greatness usually follows (Genesis 16:11; 1 Kings 13:2; Isaiah 7:14).
*Gabriel* was often a messenger who communicated God's plan.

Luke 1:26-38
*nothing will be impossible*: God keeps His promises regardless of how difficult the circumstances may seem. Gabriel's statement about God should be our statement of faith: Nothing is impossible with God.

John 16:11
Satan, the ruler of this world, rules in the hearts of unregenerate people and blinds their minds (1 Corinthians 2:6-8).
Satan was judged at the Cross. Satan has been judged, so all who side with him will be judged with him.
Ephesians 2:2
Paul here refers to a believer's old walk. Whether it was a path of moral carelessness or the dark alley of evil, believers should no longer walk according to their past evil ways. Paul points out to the Ephesians that they formerly walked according to the world's ways and after *the prince of the power of the air -* namely, the adversarial *spirit* Satan.
Revelation 9:11
*The angel of the bottomless pit* is demonic and controls the demonic locusts (Revelation 9:3-10). The *name* of the angel in *Hebrew* as in *Greek* means "Destruction".
The demons can exercise only the power that is allowed (Revelation 9:5) them by God (1 Samuel 16:14). On this occasion they have power to torment, but not to kill (Job 1:12; 2:6).
The evil of the locusts never gets out of hand, but is under God's sovereign control, and the period of its activity is limited to *five months* (Revelation 9:10), that is, a very short time in the light of eternity.

*Confession*
I make the same confession of Gabriel's, nothing is impossible with God.
The time for evil and torment to end in my life is NOW.
