The Father and Jesus are one

*29/01/2025* *MID WEEK SERVICE* THEME: *THE NATURE OF GOD* (Hebrew pl.'elohim) Text: Genesis 1:1,26 Deuteronomy 7:9 Isaiah 45:18 TOPIC: *FORM OF GOD* - All three are in Unity     *Jesus says that He and the Father are one. John 10:30 The Father and Jesus are one in purpose and operation. The Jews recognized that when Jesus talked of his oneness with the Father, he was claiming equality with him. John 10:33 Consequently they attempted to stone him according to John 10:31, just as they had attempted to do when he claimed seniority to Abraham. God is One

*26/01/2025* *ANOINTING HEALING AND COMMUNION SERVICE* THEME: *THE NATURE OF GOD* (Hebrew pl.'elohim) Text: Genesis 1:1,26 Deuteronomy 7:9 Isaiah 45:18 TOPIC: *FORM OF GOD* - All three are in Unity      *God is One  Deuteronomy 6:4-5 Mark 12:29 James 2:19 This text is frequently cited by those who oppose the doctrine of the Trinity, or who ask how Jesus can also be God. But this verse does not contradict the Christian doctrine of the Trinity, for the Trinity is regarded as fundamentally united in one Godhead. It does not consist of competing or separate divinities. The Shema starts with a statement of the unity of God. Even the demons know that there is one God according to Deuteronomy 6:4, but they do not love Him according to Deuteronomy 6:5. Their kind of belief does not lead to love, submission and obedience. Instead it leads to hatred, rebellion and disobedience. *©2025* *Ecumenican Church Nigeria ®* Instagram: *@ecumenicanchurch* WhatsApp/Telegram: *+2348...

All three are in Unity

*22/01/2025* *MID WEEK SERVICE* THEME: *THE NATURE OF GOD* (Hebrew pl.'elohim) Text: Genesis 1:1,26 Deuteronomy 7:9 Isaiah 45:18 TOPIC: *FORM OF GOD* - All three are in Unity     *God is One  Deuteronomy 6:4-5 Mark 12:29 James 2:19 The statement of Israel's beliefs is known as the *'Shema'* according to Deuteronomy 6:4-6,9, which is introduced with the solemn *Hear, O Israel* (Deuteronomy 6:4). These verses are recited by Jews as a daily prayer, along with Deuteronomy 11:13-21 and Numbers 15:37-41. At the heart of Israel's confession was the belief that Yahweh was not merely one in a pantheon of gods, but uniquely one. This positive assertion is sometimes regarded as the converse of the first two negative commandments in the Ten Commandments. Yahweh was to be the sole object of Israel's faith and obedience. *©2025* *Ecumenican Church Nigeria ®* Instagram: *@ecumenicanchurch* WhatsApp/Telegram: *+2348052366039* Email: *johnifesanya@gmail.com* *www.johnifesanya.b...

Who can probe the limits of the Almighty?

*19/01/2025* *THIRD SUNDAY SERVICE* THEME: *THE NATURE OF GOD* (Hebrew pl. 'elohim) Text: Genesis 1:1,26 Deuteronomy 7:9 Isaiah 45:18 TOPIC: *FORM OF GOD* - Who can probe the limits of the Almighty. Job 11:7-8 When Zophar interrogates Job about the impossibility of comprehending the deep things of God, he employs for search out the same term Job used to describe God's wonders as beyond "finding out" Job 9:10 God's creation of the wonders of the heavens is also celebrated by Amos Amos 5:8 The works of God are so amazing and numerous that the human mind simply cannot comprehend them. God designed and sustains the daily cycle of light and darkness through His own servant which was not a deity, the sun. God, not Baal, Tammuz, or any other fertility deity, designed and sustains the atmospheric water cycle by which the earth receives its necessary rainfall. *The LORD is His name* underscores the uniqueness of Israel's God. He is not just a national God; He is the o...

Mystery of godliness is great

*15/01/2025* *MID WEEK SERVICE* THEME: *THE NATURE OF GOD* (Hebrew pl.'elohim) Text: Genesis 1:1,26 Deuteronomy 7:9 Isaiah 45:18 TOPIC: *FORM OF GOD* - Mystery of godliness is great  1 Timothy 3:16 The Ephesian believers themselves are evidence that *Christ was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world.* The culmination of church's proclamation is the truth of *Christ's resurrection*, whereby he was *taken up in glory*. These truths must be proclaimed and guarded by the church, which is "the pillar and foundation of the truth". *One God* is a central truth of the Hebrew Scriptures. The only living God desires all to be saved. He is the only One to whom our prayers should be addressed. The *one* Mediator is the *Man Christ Jesus* Hebrews 9:11-15 There is one God from whom salvation is available. There is only one way to Him, through the Mediator Christ Jesus, who has the full nature of God and the full nature of man. Christ has identified with us; H...

FORM OF GOD

*12/01/2025* *SECOND SUNDAY SERVICE* THEME: *THE NATURE OF GOD* (Hebrew pl. 'elohim) Text: Genesis 1:1,26 Deuteronomy 7:9 Isaiah 45:18 TOPIC: *FORM OF GOD* - Mystery of godliness is great  1 Timothy 3:16 Paul for the third time quotes a liturgical formula or hymn. 1 Timothy 1:17 1 Timothy 2:5 He presents godliness as a mystery, a truth that the world cannot understand without the intervention of God Himself, but which the apostles, pastors and deacons are called to uphold. Like the hymn in 1 Timothy 2:5, this hymn speaks of Jesus Christ and concisely summarizes the key points about Christ. *He appeared in a body* refers to the incarnation, a fundamental truth without which salvation is not possible. Jesus was born in Bethlehem, grew up like any other child in Nazareth and became an adult, a Galilean among Galileans. *Jesus was vindicated by the Spirit and seen by angels at his baptism* in the Jordan, an event marking the beginning of his earthly ministry. THE NATURE OF GOD

*08/01/2025* *MID WEEK SERVICE* THEME: *THE NATURE OF GOD* (Hebrew.pl. 'elohim) Text: Genesis 1:1,26 Deuteronomy 7:9 Isaiah 45:18 Introduction  'elohim is the standard Hebrew term for God. This word is related to similar words for deity found throughout almost all Semitic languages. The basic meaning is "Mighty" or "the Almighty". In Hebrew, this word often occurs in a form called "the plural of majesty" or "the plural of intensity". In contrast to a normal plural (that is, "gods", such as the false gods of 1 Kings 19:2), the Hebrew uses this plural to mean "The Fullness of Deity" or "God - Very God!" Many Christians point to the plural form of this word as revealing the plural nature of God. *God is one, but He is also three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.* *©2025* *Ecumenican Church Nigeria ®* Instagram: *@ecumenicanchurch* WhatsApp/Telegram: *+2348052366039* Email: *johnifesany...

Sowing -"in that land" Matthew 13:1-9 4. "Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well" Matthew 6:33 expresses an eternal principle. The Lord blesses those who place their trust in Him. Isaac was at Gerar because the Lord had ordered him to stay there for a while, saying *and I will be with you and will bless you* Genesis ...
