3. Sometimes after a delay.

God will respond to injustice and religious persecution meted out to His people. *In the end*, He will avenge.

Elijah had faith that God would hear his prayers again. So he put his face between his knees and requested rain on the land to prove conclusively that it was God and not Baal who controlled the rain and that it was not Asherah who was in charge of the fertility of the land.

Elijah's prayer of faith was heard and granted by the Lord.

All the time Daniel had been wrestling with God in prayer, the angelic messenger sent to deliver an answer had been delayed by someone referred to as the prince of the Persian Kingdom.
