THE SERVANT WHO SLAPPED CHRIST

*27/09/2023* *MID WEEK SERVICE* THEME: *UNNAMED PEOPLE IN THE BIBLE* TOPIC: *THE SERVANT WHO SLAPPED CHRIST* Text: John 18:22 According to the law, the witnesses for the defense had to be called first, Jesus should not have been questioned until witnesses had testified. For the servant to have slapped Jesus was illegal according to Jewish law. There was to be no punishment before conviction. Jesus invited His accusers to present evidence that He had done something wrong. *©2023* *Ecumenican Church Nigeria ®* Instagram: *@ecumenicanchurch* WhatsApp/Telegram: *+2348052366039* Email: *johnifesanya@gmail.com* *www.johnifesanya.blogspot.com* *#ECN Ibadan #* Powered by *JDIS*

GRACE IN THE LIFE OF APOSTLE PAUL

*24/09/2023* *FOURTH SUNDAY SERVICE* TOPIC: *THE GRACE OF GOD XVII* GRACE IN THE LIFE OF APOSTLE PAUL Acts 15:40 Before Paul and Silas set out on their missionary journey together, the church at Antioch prayed for them and *"commended them to the grace of the Lord"* for the work that was ahead of them. 2 Corinthians 11:22-33 Paul's description of his experiences understandable shows that he was first commended to the grace of God! He needed it to survive! The Lord's answer to Paul's confession of weakness is His promise for us too: *".... My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness...."* 2 Corinthians 12:9 *©2023* *Ecumenican Church Nigeria ®* Instagram: *@ecumenicanchurch* WhatsApp/Telegram: *+2348052366039* Email: *johnifesanya@gmail.com* *www.johnifesanya.blogspot.com* *#ECN Ibadan #* Powered by *JDIS*

PILATE'S WIFE

*20/09/2023* *MID WEEK SERVICE* THEME: *UNNAMED PEOPLE IN THE BIBLE* TOPIC: *PILATE'S WIFE* Text: Matthew 27:19 Pilate clearly understood that there was no case against Jesus, let alone a case deserving capital punishment. He perceived that the trumped - up charges were fuelled by envy and jealousy according to Matthew 27:18,23, and *his own wife* confirmed his suspicions through a dream. *There is irony in her testimony, for in her we see a pagan woman hearing the voice of God in a dream, while the people of God were unable to see what was happening before their eyes* Pilate tried to free Jesus, first by offering the crowd a choice between Barabbas, a notorious prisoner, and Jesus. *©2023* *Ecumenican Church Nigeria ®* Instagram: *@ecumenicanchurch* WhatsApp/Telegram: *+2348052366039* Email: *johnifesanya@gmail.com* *www.johnifesanya.blogspot.com* *#ECN Ibadan #* Powered by *JDIS*

GRACE IN THE LIFE OF GIDEON

*17/09/2023* *THIRD SUNDAY SERVICE* TOPIC: *THE GRACE OF GOD XVI* Text: Judges 6:1-24 GRACE IN THE LIFE OF GIDEON The call of God came to Gideon to deliver His (God's) people from the conquering armies of Midian. Israel had known only defeat for many years. Gideon's response to God's word in verse 13 reveals his initial unbelief. Even when the Lord encouraged him and promised to be with him, Gideon answered: ( verse 15). Despite his fear and inability, with God's grace (enabling power) Gideon saved Israel. And he did it with just a small band of men. It was GRACE that made the difference! *©2023* *Ecumenican Church Nigeria ®* Instagram: *@ecumenicanchurch* WhatsApp/Telegram: *+2348052366039* Email: *johnifesanya@gmail.com* *www.johnifesanya.blogspot.com* *#ECN Ibadan #* Powered by *JDIS*

THE TWO FALSE WITNESSES

*13/09/2023* *MID WEEK SERVICE* THEME: *UNNAMED PEOPLE IN THE BIBLE* TOPIC: *THE TWO FALSE WITNESSES* Text: Matthew 26:60 It is clear that although they constituted a court of law, the Sanhedrin did not follow proper legal procedures in Jesus' case. *First*, they conducted a capital trial at night. *Second*, they passed a sentence on the same day as the trial. *Third*, they should have conducted the meeting of the Sanhedrin in the Chamber of Hewn Stone on the Temple Mount and not in the house of the chief priest. *Fourth*, they broke the law regarding false witnesses. GRACE IN THE LIFE OF MOSES II

*10/09/2023* *SECOND SUNDAY SERVICE* TOPIC: *THE GRACE OF GOD XV* Text: Exodus 3:11-13; 4:1-13 GRACE IN THE LIFE OF MOSES II When God told Moses to go down to Egypt and tell Pharaoh to let His three million people go free from slavery, Moses' immediate response - out of his own weakness and inability - was as follows: Exodus 3:11 "Who am I?" Exodus 3:13 "Who are you?" Exodus 4:1 "They won't believe me!" Exodus 4:10 "I'm not eloquent" Exodus 4:13 "Lord, send someone else!" But with God's grace, Moses did go down to Egypt, and with signs and wonders brought the people of Israel into the land God had told him to. *©2023* *Ecumenican Church Nigeria ®* Instagram: *@ecumenicanchurch* WhatsApp/Telegram: *+2348052366039* Email: *johnifesanya@gmail.com* *www.johnifesanya.blogspot.com* *#ECN Ibadan #* Powered by *JDIS*

THE CAPERNAUM CENTURION

*06/09/2023* *MID WEEK SERVICE* THEME: *UNNAMED PEOPLE IN THE BIBLE* *TOPIC:* *THE CAPERNAUM CENTURION* Text: Luke 7:1-10 The Roman government regarded synagogues as valuable because their moral emphasis helped maintain order. The centurion compared his authority as. a commander of soldiers to Jesus' authority over life and health. The centurion knew that Jesus' word alone was sufficient to heal his servant. The centurion's example of faith came from outside the nation of Israel. This is one of only two cases where Jesus was said to "marvel". GRACE IN THE LIFE OF MOSES

*03/09/2023* *THANKSGIVING SERVICE* TOPIC: *THE GRACE OF GOD XIV* Text: Exodus 3:11-13; 4:1-13 GRACE IN THE LIFE OF MOSES The command the Lord gave Moses was no small task. Egypt was the ruling empire of the day. It was an evil nation, and Pharaoh, its satanic leader, held authority that was claimed to be divine. Every nation in the known world lived in fear of Pharaoh. *©2023* *Ecumenican Church Nigeria ®* Instagram: *@ecumenicanchurch* WhatsApp/Telegram: *+2348052366039* Email: *johnifesanya@gmail.com* *www.johnifesanya.blogspot.com* *#ECN Ibadan #* Powered by *JDIS*
