His government would be a peaceful reign.

The risen Lord Jesus brings His rule of peace to the believer's heart in the present age.

Moreover, He will establish the Kingdom of God which will be His reign of peace.

The fact that this coming Child will occupy *the throne of David* forever fulfills God's promise to David.
