The tomb was not opened to permit Christ to come out, but to allow others in so they could see that it was empty. Brilliance is a characteristic of heavenly beings (Matthew 17:2; Daniel 7:9; 10:5,6; Acts 1:10; Revelation 3:4,5; 4:4; 6:11; 7:9,13; 19:14). *He is risen, as He said:* For Jesus' predictions of His resurrection, see Matthew 12:40; 16:21; 17:9,23; 26:32. The Lord Jesus made post-resurrection appearances first in Jerusalem and Judea, then in Galilee, and then again in Jerusalem. Both Matthew 28 and John 21 emphasize the appearances in Galilee. The first was necessary to establish Jesus' lineage to David and His royal right to be King. The second was necessary to establish His qualifications to be the Saviour of all people: Jesus was God's Son and not merely Joseph's. Matthew elaborated on Jesus' kingship while Luke detailed His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit. Luke 1:35 *The Holy Spirit will come upon you:* This is a direct declaration of Jesus' divine conception.  *11/10/2020* *SECOND SUNDAY SERVICE* THEME: *ANGELS: MESSENGERS OF GOD* TOPIC: *ANGELS MINISTERED TO MANY PEOPLE* SUB-TOPIC: *DANIEL* Text: Daniel 6:22 *#in the lion's den#* Hebrews 11:33 The King Darius called out to Daniel, addressing him as a servant of the living God (Daniel 6:20). He recognizes that Daniel continually serves his God, and that God is 'living' as opposed to 'dead' idols. It is also clear that he had at least some expectation that Daniel would be delivered (Daniel 6:20). He was overjoyed when Daniel responded (Daniel 6:23). Daniel had no doubt that it was the Lord who had protected him (Daniel 6:22). The fire burned off the men's bonds (Daniel 3:21), but did not hurt them. Isaiah 43:2; Psalms 34:7. Nebuchadnezzar praises God: Daniel 4:2,3,17,34,35. The wicked are quick to take credit for their successes. The righteous correctly give praise to God for their accomplishments. An implement in the hand of its user has no reason for boasting; Assyria was merely a tool in the hand of God. It has no reason to boast. There is the coming judgment of the Assyrians, who had become fat because of their acts of conquest. *The Light of Israel* is a wonderful title for God. The Lord Jesus is described as a "light" of Israel as well (John 1:1-13). *His thorns ...his forest* refers to all persons and possessions in the Assyrian Empire.
