thus spiritual rebirth necessary

*26/02/2025* *MID WEEK SERVICE* THEME: *THE NATURE OF GOD* (Hebrew pl.'elohim) Text: Genesis 1:1,26 Deuteronomy 7:9 Isaiah 45:18 TOPIC: *SPIRIT - GOD IS A SPIRIT* - thus spiritual rebirth necessary  John 3:3-8 1 Corinthians 15:50 Nicodemus did not stand on his rank but came to visit Jesus, probably as a courtesy call. But Jesus responded to Nicodemus' admiring words with a blunt statement about Nicodemus himself and his need for new birth. Being 'born again ' means acknowledging that one is a sinner, repenting of sin, and inviting Jesus into one's heart as Saviour. God responds by declaring that the one who does this is his child. *©2025* *Ecumenican Church Nigeria ®* Instagram: *@ecumenicanchurch* WhatsApp/Telegram: *+2348052366039* Email: *johnifesanya@gmail.com* *www.johnifesanya.blogspot.com* *#ECN Ibadan #* Powered by *JDIS*

thus spiritual worship required

*23/02/2025* *ANOINTING HEALING AND COMMUNION SERVICE* THEME: *THE NATURE OF GOD* (Hebrew pl.'elohim) Text: Genesis 1:1,26 Deuteronomy 7:9 Isaiah 45:18 TOPIC: *SPIRIT - GOD IS A SPIRIT* - thus spiritual worship required  John 4:24 God is not limited by time and space. When people are born of the Spirit, they can commune with God anywhere. Spirit is the opposite of what is material and earthly, for example, Mount Gerizim. Christ makes worship a matter of the heart. Truth is what is in harmony with the nature and will of God. It is the opposite of all that is false. Here the truth is specifically the worship of God through Jesus Christ. The issue is not where a person worships but how and whom. *©2025* *Ecumenican Church Nigeria ®* Instagram: *@ecumenicanchurch* WhatsApp/Telegram: *+2348052366039* Email: *johnifesanya@gmail.com* *www.johnifesanya.blogspot.com* *#ECN Ibadan #* Powered by *JDIS*

thus no graven images, idols

*19/02/2025* *MID WEEK SERVICE* THEME: *THE NATURE OF GOD* (Hebrew pl.'elohim) Text: Genesis 1:1,26 Deuteronomy 7:9 Isaiah 45:18 TOPIC: *SPIRIT - GOD IS A SPIRIT* - thus no graven images, idols  Deuteronomy 5:8 Isaiah 42:8 1 John 5:21 Even when an image functioned as a symbol for deity, it led worshippers away from the true worship of the living God. God reminds us of the name *Yahweh* by which he revealed himself (Exodus 3:14-15) to indicate that he gives his glory only to this person (Isaiah 42:8-9). Jesus will claim to be the only true representative of God (John 14:6-7). Once again addressing his readers as dear children, John exhorts them saying, *keep yourselves from idols*. For him, an idol is not just an object one keeps in one's closet. Rather, it is anything that keeps one from living up to one's Christian beliefs. *All one needs to do to be an idolater is to choose to believe or do something that is opposed to the will of God.* *©2025* *Ecumenican Church Nigeria...

"baptize in the name (singular) of Father, Son and Holy Spirit"(plural).

*12/02/2025* *MID WEEK SERVICE* THEME: *THE NATURE OF GOD* (Hebrew pl.'elohim) Text: Genesis 1:1,26 Deuteronomy 7:9 Isaiah 45:18 TOPIC: *FORM OF GOD* - All three are in Unity     *baptize in the name(singular) of Father, Son and Holy Spirit "(plural). Matthew 28:19-20 *Therefore* shows that the Great Commission rests on the authority of Christ. Because He has authority overall, everyone needs to hear His gospel. While verses 18-20 are commonly known as the Great Commission, they should not be thought of as the first call for world evangelism (Genesis 12:1-3) for God's command that Abraham and his descendants should be a blessing to all nations. *make disciples:* Making disciples involves three steps: going, baptizing and teaching. It was assumed that when a person trusted in the Lord Jesus, he or she would be baptized. The word *name* is singular, although it is the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit together. This verse is another indication that God is One in...

"Whom shall I (singular) send, and who will go for US?"(plural)

*09/02/2025* *SECOND SUNDAY SERVICE* THEME: *THE NATURE OF GOD* (Hebrew pl.'elohim) Text: Genesis 1:1, 26  Deuteronomy 7:9 Isaiah 45:18 TOPIC: *FORM OF GOD* - All three are in Unity     *"Whom shall I (singular) send, and who will go for US?"(plural) Isaiah 6:8 God then speaks, calling Isaiah to ministry. It is worth noting that this call is not issued at random. Isaiah was already someone who went to the temple in a time of crisis. He was listening to hear what God had to say and was concerned for his people. Thus when he hears God speak of a need, his immediate response is *Here am I, Send me* *©2025* *Ecumenican Church Nigeria ®* Instagram: *@ecumenicanchurch* WhatsApp/Telegram: *+2348052366039* Email: *johnifesanya@gmail.com* *www.johnifesanya.blogspot.com* *#ECN Ibadan #* Powered by *JDIS*

"Let US make man in OUR image"II

*05/02/2025* *MID WEEK SERVICE* THEME: *THE NATURE OF GOD* (Hebrew pl.'elohim) Text: Genesis 1:1,26 Deuteronomy 7:9 Isaiah 45:18 TOPIC: *FORM OF GOD* - All three are in Unity     *"Let US make man in OUR image" II Genesis 1:26 So God placed humankind as living symbols of Himself on earth to represent His reign. This interpretation fits well with the command that follows - to reign over all that God has made. *according to Our likeness:* This draws attention to the preceding figure of speech. Since God is Spirit according to John 4:24, there can be no "image" or "likeness" of Him in the normal sense of these words. Indeed, image-making was later strongly prohibited because of the clear ties that has with idolatry according to Exodus 20:4-6. We may not make images of God for He has already done so! We are His images; it is we who are in His likeness. This is the reason God values people so much. We are made to reflect His majesty on earth. *have dominio...

"Let US make man in OUR image"

*02/02/2025* *THANKSGIVING SERVICE* THEME: *THE NATURE OF GOD* (Hebrew pl.'elohim) Text: Genesis 1:1,26 Deuteronomy 7:9 Isaiah 45:18 TOPIC: *FORM OF GOD* - All three are in Unity     *"Let US make man in OUR image". Genesis 1:26 *Let Us make* emphasizes the majesty of the speaker. Furthermore, the use of a plural for God allows for the later revelation of the Trinity. Genesis 11:7 Matthew 28:19 The *Us* cannot refer to the angels that are present with God because man is made in the image of God alone, not also that of the angels. *in Our image*: What is the image of God in man? The traditional view is that God's image is certain moral, ethical and intellectual abilities. A more recent view, based on Hebrew grammar and the knowledge of the ancient Middle East, interprets the phrase as meaning "Let us make man as our image" (the Hebrew preposition in this phrase can be translated as). In ancient times an emperor might command statues of himself to be placed i...
