Will be rewarded openly

*27/11/2024* *MID WEEK SERVICE* TOPIC: *PRAYER* Text: Genesis 4:26 Philippians 4:6-7 PRIVATE PRAYER  Will be rewarded openly  Matthew 6:6 Prayer was an important part of Jewish religious life. Devout Jews prayed three times a day: at dawn, midday and dusk. Daniel 6:10 Acts 3:1 While we have no historical evidence of ostentatious praying in the street, it is not unlikely that certain people organized their day so that the time of prayer found them on a street corner. Jesus questions the motives of those who pray to impress others. *©2024* *Ecumenican Church Nigeria ®* Instagram: *@ecumenicanchurch* WhatsApp/Telegram: *+2348052366039* Email: *johnifesanya@gmail.com* *www.johnifesanya.blogspot.com* *#ECN Ibadan #* Powered by *JDIS*

Jesus as our example III

*24/11/2024* *ANOINTING HEALING AND COMMUNION SERVICE* TOPIC: *PRAYER* Text: Genesis 4:26 Philippians 4:6-7 PRIVATE PRAYER  Jesus as our example III Mark 1:35 Luke 9:18,19 Before the hustle and bustle of the day began, Jesus took time to commune with the Father. Both the timing and location bear testimony to an uninterrupted time of prayer. Our Lord set a clear example for us, namely that the day's business must never be more urgent than time spent in communion with God. *©2024* *Ecumenican Church Nigeria ®* Instagram: *@ecumenicanchurch* WhatsApp/Telegram: *+2348052366039* Email: *johnifesanya@gmail.com* *www. johnifesanya.blogspot.com* *#ECN Ibadan #* Powered by *JDIS*

Jesus as our example II

*20/11/2024* *MID WEEK SERVICE* TOPIC: *PRAYER* Text: Genesis 4:26 Philippians 4:6-7 PRIVATE PRAYER  Jesus as our example II Matthew 26:36,39 Jesus felt a desperate need for companionship in prayer, and so he asked Peter, James and John to support him at this very important time. On the Mount of Transfiguration, these three had seen Jesus glory and had fallen face down before the voice of God according to Matthew 17:1-5 and Luke 9:28-36. But now it was Jesus' turn to fall prostrate on the ground, as his soul was deeply troubled. As he prayed, Jesus was not pleading with the impersonal forces of the universe, he was speaking to his father. His honor of the events facing him was so great that he asked whether the Father had another plan that would not involve such suffering. But even as he made his plea, he expressed his submission to the Father's will. *Prayer must always be subject to the Father's will* *©2024* *Ecumenican Church Nigeria ®* Instagram: *@ecumenicanchurch* W...

Private prayer

*17/11/2024* *THIRD SUNDAY SERVICE* TOPIC: *PRAYER* Text: Genesis 4:26 Philippians 4:6-7 PRIVATE PRAYER  Jesus as our example  Matthew 14:23; 26:36,39 Mark 1:35 Luke 9:18,19 Jesus sent the disciples off on a boat journey to the other side. Matthew says that Jesus compelled the disciples to leave while he dismissed the crowd. This may have become necessary because a dangerous situation had arisen, which Jesus had to deal with alone. John tells us that the people wanted to force Jesus to become a political king because they realized that he must be the prophet whom Moses had promised  John 6:15 Such premature political fervour would prejudice Jesus' mission and confuse his call to go to the cross. Jesus himself retired to the mountain to pray. The Gospels show him to be a person of prayer. We have turmoil in our home

*13/11/2024* *MID WEEK SERVICE* TOPIC: *PRAYER* Text: Genesis 4:26 Philippians 4:6-7 HINDRANCES TO PRAYERS BEING HEARD OR ANSWERED  10. We have turmoil in our home  1 Peter 3:7 Christian husbands are to demonstrate toward their wives the same unselfish spirit as Christian citizens (1 Peter 2:13-17), Christian subordinates (1 Peter 2:18-25), and Christian wives (1 Peter 3:1-6). A Christian husband should be intimately aware of his wife's needs, her strengths and weaknesses, and her goals and desires. He should know as much about her as possible in order to respond in the best way to her. A Christian husband gives honor to his wife because she deserves honor (1 Peter 3:1-6) A Christian husband's spiritual relationship with God is directly affected by the way he treats his wife. *©2024* *Ecumenican Church Nigeria ®* Instagram: *@ecumenicanchurch* WhatsApp/Telegram: *+2348052366039* Email: *johnifesanya@gmail.com* *www.johnifesanya.blogspot.com* *#ECN Ibadan #* Powered by *J...

We keep idols in our heart

*10/11/2024* *SECOND SUNDAY SERVICE* TOPIC: *PRAYER* Text: Genesis 4:26 Philippians 4:6-7 HINDRANCES TO PRAYERS BEING HEARD OR ANSWERED  9. We keep idols in our heart Eze.8:5-18; 14:1-3 The people thought that just because the temple stood among them, whatever wrong they might do could not bring ultimate disaster. They thought the temple guaranteed their security. They did not realize that their evil had actually caused God to leave His temple, which would then no longer be their protection. Polytheistic idolatry was being practiced in Israel. God revealed to Ezekiel that this group of the elders of Israel consisted of double-minded men. 1 Kings 18:21 Matthew 6:24 James 1:5-8 Outwardly they came to seek a word from God through His true prophet Ezekiel, but in their hearts they harbored loyalties to other gods. God knows all hearts and minds according to Psalms 139:1-6, and He asks Ezekiel a rhetorical question about whether He ought to give revelatory guidance to such religio...

We lack faith

*06/11/2024* *MID WEEK SERVICE* TOPIC: *PRAYER* Text: Genesis 4:26 Philippians 4:6-7 HINDRANCES TO PRAYERS BEING HEARD OR ANSWERED  8. We lack faith  Hebrews 11:6 James 1:6 Faith enables believers to walk closely with God. Before the flood, Enoch walked with God for three hundred years in the midst of terrible wickedness without wavering in his faith. Hebrews 11:5-6 Genesis 5:22-24 His upright walk pleased God, who decided to take him away alive to heaven. *At the heart of prayer, we must have active faith* Will God answer the prayer of the person who hesitates or waffles?  Does such a person have faith? *©2024* *Ecumenican Church Nigeria ®* Instagram: *@ecumenicanchurch* WhatsApp/Telegram: *+2348052366039* Email: *johnifesanya@gmail.com* *www.johnifesanya.blogspot.com* *#ECN Ibadan #* Powered by *JDIS*

We have an unforgiving spirit

*03/11/2024* *THANKSGIVING SERVICE* TOPIC: *PRAYER* Text: Genesis 4:26 Philippians 4:6-7 HINDRANCES TO PRAYERS BEING HEARD OR ANSWERED  7. We have an unforgiving spirit. Matthew 5:22-24 Matthew 6:12-15 Jesus says anger must not lead to murder or insults. Nor it is enough simply to ignore one's anger or control one's temper. He insists that we deal with our anger by seeking complete reconciliation. Matthew 5:23-26 *Those with burning anger in their heart cannot offer true worship* The anger will destroy their moral fibre. We should forgive others in the same way that we seek forgiveness from God. Matthew 6:14-15 *Those who themselves know how to forgive will be more open to forgiveness from God and others* *©2024* *Ecumenican Church Nigeria ®* Instagram: *@ecumenicanchurch* WhatsApp/Telegram: *+2348052366039* Email: *johnifesanya@gmail.com* *www.johnifesanya.blogspot.com* *#ECN Ibadan #* Powered by *JDIS*
