MY SON

*30/05/2021* *ANOINTING HEALING AND COMMUNION SERVICE* THEME: *JESUS CHRIST* TOPIC: *JESUS* (Gk. Iesous) SUB-TOPIC: *THE MESSIAH* TITLES FOR THE MESSIAH *My Son* Psalms 2:7 (NKJV) "I will declare the decree: The LORD has said to Me, 'You are *My Son*, Today I have begotten You. Each time a legitimate son of David was crowned King as the successor to his father in the city of Jerusalem these words could be used of him. The new King was adopted by God as His "son", he would look to God as his "Father" (2 Samuel 7:5,14). This formula of adoption was announced in a solemn ceremony of coronation attended by priests and prophets, with pomp and celebratory worship of God. In the New Testament, the Son of God is also declared to be the King, the true Anointed, the Christ (Matthew 3:17; Mark 1:1,11; Luke 3:22; John 1:18; Acts 13:33; Hebrews 1:5;5:5). *Copyright 2021* *The Ecumenican Church Nigeria* Instagram: *@ecumenicanchurch* WhatsApp: *+2348052366039* Email: *j

SON OF DAVID

*26/05/2021* *MID-WEEK SERVICE* THEME: *JESUS CHRIST* TOPIC: *JESUS* (Gk. Iesous) SUB-TOPIC: *THE MESSIAH* TITLES FOR THE MESSIAH *Son of David* Matthew 1:1 Genealogy means "origin". Genealogies were very important to first-century Jews. A genealogy 1. proved that a person was indeed an Israelite. 2. identified the tribe to which he or she belonged, and 3. qualified certain Jews for religious duties such as Levitical and priestly service (Ezra 2:61,62). Christ's genealogy is crucial to historic Christianity. *Matthew traced the lineage of Christ Jesus back to Abraham to show that He was a Jew, but also back through David to inform us that Jesus is qualified to rule on the throne of David   (2 Samuel 7:12) an event still in the future (Matthew 19:28)* *Copyright 2021* *The Ecumenican Church Nigeria* Instagram: *@ecumenicanchurch* WhatsApp: *+2348052366039* Email: *johnifesanya@gmail.com* *www.johnifesanya.blogspot.com* *#TEC#* Powered by *JDIS*

2021 PENTECOST SUNDAY

*23/05/2021* *2021 HOLY GHOST SERVICE* *(PENTECOST SUNDAY)* THEME: *THE GOSPEL WITHOUT HEALINGS AND MIRACLES* "Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?" *Acts 26:8* Miracles and healings raise a question; some people say the days of miracles are gone. Others say, even though, God heals, some conditions are too bad for God to heal. Check through the Gospels, you would see impossibilities turn to possibilities by our *Lord Jesus Christ* Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews 13:8. The word of God is real, true and alive. Miracles and healings are living testimonies to the authenticity of the Bible. *The  ministry of Jesus Christ* had three cardinal areas, that of preaching, teaching and *healing*. The three areas are exclusive to the life of Jesus; one cannot be substituted for the other. The three complement one another. What is preached and taught should be demonstrated and seen by all to be true and real.

THE MESSIAH

*09/05/2021* *SECOND SUNDAY SERVICE* THEME: *JESUS CHRIST* TOPIC: *JESUS* (Gk. Iesous) SUB-TOPIC: *THE MESSIAH* Text: Matthew 11:2-3  (NKJV) In the Old Testament, prophets, priests and Kings were literally anointed with oil to consecrate them for special service or to signify the endowment of the Spirit of God. Leviticus 4:3;8:12; 1 Samuel 10:1,6; Psalms 105:15; Isaiah 61:1. These practices pointed to the promised arrival of *God's Anointed One, who would fulfill all three offices as the Prophet, the Priest and the King.* *Copyright 2021* *The Ecumenican Church Nigeria* Instagram: *@ecumenicanchurch* WhatsApp: *+2348052366039* Email: *johnifesanya@gmail.com* *www.johnifesanya.blogspot.com* *#TEC#*

THE MESSIAH

*05/05/2021* *MID-WEEK SERVICE* THEME: *JESUS CHRIST* TOPIC: *JESUS* (Gk. Iesous) SUB-TOPIC: *THE MESSIAH* Text: Matthew 11:2-3 *"Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples."* *"And said to him, Are you the one to come, or do we look for another?* Saint Matthew wrote his Gospel to demonstrate to his Jewish audience that *Jesus* is indeed the *long-awaited Messiah* Who is the Messiah and why were the Jews waiting for such a person! In Hebrew or Aramaic, the word *Messiah* means *"anointed"*. The Greek equivalent of the word is the title *Christ* *Copyright 2021* *The Ecumenican Church Nigeria* Instagram: *@ecumenicanchurch* WhatsApp: *+2348052366039* Email: *johnifesanya@gmail.com* *www.johnifesanya.blogspot.com* *#TEC#*

THE NAZARENE

*02/05/2021* *THANKSGIVING SERVICE* THEME: *JESUS CHRIST* TOPIC: *JESUS* (Gk. Iesous) SUB-TOPIC: *THE NAZARENE* Text: Matthew 2:23(NKJV) Nathanael knew that the Old Testament prophets had predicted that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem. Furthermore, Nazareth was an obscure village. Nathanael simply could not fathom that such a significant person as the Messiah could come from such an insignificant place as Nazareth (John 1:46). The fact that Jesus was despised because of His Nazarene background aptly fits several Old Testament prophecies that speak of the humble character of the Messiah (Psalms 22:6-8; Isaiah 42:1-4; Micah 5:2). Whether the word Nazarene is associated with the prophecies of the Messiah as the Branch or the general prophecies of the Messiah's humble character, apparently Matthew's largely Jewish audience would have seen the association clearly. Otherwise Matthew would have provided further explanation. *Tithes & Offering* Genesis 14:18-20 Account name
