 *31/01/2024* *MID WEEK SERVICE* TOPIC: *FASTING* Text: Jeremiah 14:10-12 INTRODUCTION Fasting means denying our bodies some of it's usual provision. Not a cure-all for past sins. Unlike the troubled Jeremiah, the people were unrepentant and in need of correction. Jeremiah realized that judgment was inevitable because God offered no hint of deliverance. Because no one displayed any restraint from sin. God could not violate His holy character and accept the people of Judah. Because divine discipline was inevitable, Jeremiah was instructed not to pray for the good of Jerusalem. These methods of expressing penitence and establishing communion with God, including fasting, were ineffective because of the people's disobedience.
